Texas teen, 13, is charged in stabbing death of friend; victim’s mother claims adult stood by and watched
A 13-year-old Texas teen has been charged in the stabbing death associated with her friend, with the victim’ h mother alleging that an adult was by and watched the rupture turn deadly.
Anntoinette Carter stated that the suspect and her child, 14-year-old Nylah Lightfoot, were on-and-off friends, and they asked to have a sleepover at the Carter home. When the girl said no, the friend requested Lightfoot to come over and collect the girl clothes, KDFW reported.
When Lightfoot reached the apartment complex in southern Fort Worth early Tuesday, girls got into a physical fight. Billings said her daughter prevailed yet the suspect retaliated. Based on police, that’ s when the believe pulled out a knife and stabbed Lightfoot several times.
She had been taken to John Peter Smith Medical center, where she was pronounced lifeless. The Tarrant County medical examiner’ s office said Lightfoot had been stabbed in the neck and upper body.
Billings alleged that here was a minumum of one adult inside the home who was by and watched the eventually fatal brawl, The Star-Telegram reported.
Fortification Worth Police spokeswoman Bradley Perez said that the suspect was caught Wednesday, but because of her age group, no further information was provided.
On Thursday night the suspect was ordered simply by State District Judge Timothy Menikos to be held in custody impending the trial.
“ I’m daughterless, ” Carter said. “ My cardiovascular feels like it’s been ripped out plus stomped on. ”
