‘Today’ show names Hoda Kotb as Savannah Guthrie’s new co-anchor

Hoda Kotb will be Savannah Guthrie’s new co-anchor of “Today. ” The position opened up after the system fired longtime-host Matt Lauer was  fired more than sexual misconduct violations.

Kotb had been filling in for Lauer considering that his departure on Nov. twenty nine and NBC News Chairman Andy Lack made Kotb’s new work official on Tuesday.

“This has to be the most famous decision NBC News has available, ” Guthrie said Tuesday associated with Kotb’s new gig.

Guthrie and the girl new co-anchor will host the particular 7-9 a. m. hours associated with “Today. ” Kotb will also maintain her co-hosting job of the ten a. m. hour with Kathie Lee Gifford.
