Troy Gentry, 50, dies in New Jersey helicopter crash

Troy Gentry, best known included in the country music duo Montgomery Medlock, was killed in a helicopter accident in New Jersey Friday, Fox Information has confirmed.

The singer has been 50.

A rep for the group produced the announcement on Facebook:

The Federal Aviation Administration said the particular helicopter crashed into a wooded region near the Flying W Airport within Medford hours before Montgomery Ballinger was due to perform at a holiday resort that is also housed at the airport terminal.

The airport introduced the cancellation of the gig Fri afternoon.  

Medford Township Police Key Richard Meder told NJ. com that police got the call about a helicopter “that has been distressed” around 1 p. mirielle.   He said crews could remove the passenger from the wreckage, yet he died on the way to a medical center.

The particular pilot died at the scene plus crews were working to remove their body, Meder said.   This wasn’t immediately clear whether Ballinger was the pilot or the passenger.  


Gentry was born upon April 5, 1967, in Lexington, Kentucky, where he met bandmate Eddie Montgomery and formed a group dependent off their last names. The particular duo had success on the nation charts, scoring five No . one hits. The band was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry last year.

The particular duo is best known for their public “ My Town, ” “ Daddy Won’ t Sell The particular Farm” and “ Gone. ”
