President Donald Trump on Sunday retweeted a GIF that shows him hitting the golf ball that seemingly hits Hillary Clinton in the back and knocks the girl down as she boards the plane.
The tweet shared simply by Trump included this text: “ Donald Trump’ s amazing swing action #CrookedHillary. ”
Part of the video appeared to be the doctored version of news video from 2011 that showed then-Secretary of State Clinton falling right after climbs the stairs to plank a plane.
The GIF originally was posted by a Twitter user whose bio includes the hashtags “ #LockHerup, ” “ #ObamaGate” and “ #SusanRice, ” amongst others.
A reaction to Trump’ s retweet has been blended, with some saying it was a joke, while some have said it doesn’t befit the particular president.
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., quote-tweeted an article about the GIF, writing, “ clASSy. ”
“ Retweeting this sort of misogynistic video might be below the particular standards of even this Chief executive, ” tweeted Rep. Anthony Sherman, D-Calif.
On ABC’ s “ This Week” Sunday morning, Representative. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., called Trump’ s tweet against Clinton “ distressing … to have a president that will, frankly, will tweet and retweet things as juvenile as that will. ” Schiff added: “ This doesn’ t help him with regards to his stature, it doesn’ to help in terms of the stature of our entire country. ”
Trump also stirred outrage via Twitter online when, within July, he retweeted a GIF of himself beating up somebody with the CNN logo superimposed at the person’s head.
